CWA Human Rights Juneteenth Opal's Walk

The CWA Human Rights Committee is hosting a Juneteenth Celebration. We are
excited to invite you to join us for this event, Juneteenth Opal’s Virtual Walk for
Freedom.
Inspired by the incredible activism of Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” this
nationwide walk is a powerful way to honor the fight for freedom and justice. At age 89,
Opal walked from Texas to Washington, D.C., to demand national recognition of
Juneteenth, and she won.
Now it’s our turn to carry that legacy forward. By walking, whether virtually or in your
community, you’re standing up for racial equity, remembering the history of
emancipation, and showing that the justice movement is still alive and strong.
Take a step for freedom. Walk with us. Walk for change. Walk for justice.
